The second generation of Porsch Cayenne has been a huge success story for the Stuttgart sportscar maker. Demand is so high that waiting lists in China exceeded a year at one time.
An update for the popular SUV introduced in 2014 is coming in 2014, though the facelift is expected to be minor.

However, a new hyper-efficient variant is also expected to debut. According to Motor Trend, the Cayenne e-Hybrid will be an even more efficient version of the standard Cayenne Hybrid. The e-Hybrid could be a plug-in hybrid, which will be able to travel for 15 miles (24 km) on electricity alone, thanks to a stronger electric motor delivering about 100 hp. Combined with the supercharged V6 motor, this will allow the SUV a combined output somewhere in the region of 420 hp.

This system will reportedly be first seen on the Panamera facelift coming out next year. In fact, a little while ago, we showed you a Panamera prototype with two caps/lids at the back, one on each side, indicating an electric socket had been added.
