Porsche Cayenne Diesel US Launch: Second Half of 2012

Porsche is currently focusing on the US market, with the company forecasting that its sales will double to around 50,000 units per year by 2018, while the carmaker expects its global sales to hit 200,000 units by then, as reported by Automotive News.

However, an ambition plan isn’t enough, as we must also take a look at things by zooming in. Porsche obviuosly needs to quench the American consumers’ thirst. One of the aces that the carmaker will pull out of its sleeve is introducing its first diesel in the US, the oil-burning Cayenne.

This should land in the US in the second half of next year and is expected to account for 15 percent of Porsche’s sales. The 240 hp 3.0-liter diesel, which has already arrived in America under the bonnets of the AUdi Q7 and VW Touareg, will now come with a Porsche badge.
