Porsche Calendar Gets the Mercury Gold Award

The official 2011 Porsche calendar has been awarded gold honours in the promotion category at this year’s Mercury Excellence Awards in New York. In all, the international jury evaluated more than 760 submissions from 21 countries.

The 2011 Porsche calendar, in the 59 by 55.7 centimetre format, picks up the theme of “Porsche Intelligent Performance.” Under this idea, the company has put three hybrid models – the 911 GT3 R Hybrid, the Cayenne S Hybrid, and the 918 Spyder concept study – into the public spotlight.

“Porsche Intelligent Performance” marks the various hybrid models on three pages and featuring furthermore a wide spectrum of Porsche sports vehicles on the other month pages. An overview page presents all the calendar motives and gives information about the automobiles.

“Technology, form and colour blend into a unique symbiosis and promise an extraordinary Porsche experience for the entire year. The realistic product photography is set in an intensely charged environment of landscapes conveyed abstractly with colour and powerful colour surfaces. Opposites that harmonise with one another: The paint coating of the vehicle is always reflected in the colour environment of the motif and thus creates a  harmoniously arranged total composition,”
Porsche Design explains.

The official Porsche calendar comes with an exclusive 40-millimetre collector’s medal that displays the 918 Spyder concept study on its front and the calendar slogan with the year 2011 on its back.

There is also a limited edition Style calendar, also centered around the “Porsche Intelligent Performance“ theme that has inspired the Weissach designers to produce 13 dynamic graphics which – for the first time – are also signed.
