Porsche Cajun Three-Door Crossover Is Coming

The word is out! Porsche intents to build a three-door coupe crossover that’s meant to challenge its direct rival the three-door Range Rover Evoque. The Prosche Cajun is expected to be launched in two years and will be based on the Audi Q5 SUV. In addition, the German automaker has also started work on a five-door version of the Cajun, as related by Autocar.co.uk.

Renderings revealed from an internal styling practice at Porsche’s design HQ show that the new crossover is likely to resemble the 911 design lines. Design elements are influenced by the legendary 959 rally-raid racer, standing out with its raised ride height, which will ensure that the three-door Cajun will be bit different from the five-door model.

The Cajun will also receive a tailor made interior designed to distinguish it from the Q5. The new crossover will get a range of Porsche-tweaked Audi engines, including four cylinder and six-cylinder petrol also diesel engines are to be considered.

The decision of building the Cajun was made official by Porsche in March. I’s not know why, but the arrival of the Evoque may as well have contributed to the birth of the Cajun.

With the upcoming of the Cajun crossover, Porsche expects to get closer to the 150,000 annual sales that was signaled as a medium-term target. Building the new Cajun crossover will determine an expansion at the Liepzig Porsche factory that will also add 1000 jobs at the German facility.
