Porsche used the Geneva Motor Show to introduce the 981 Boxster and Boxster S, but we didn’t know the vehicle’s Nurburgring time. Now we do and we’ll share it with you. A leaked image taken during a press conference shows us that the 315 hp Boxster S needs just 7 minutes and 58 seconds to lap the Nordschleife.
This is the time offered by the German carmaker, so we also have to wait for one set by an independent source, but if we trust it, please allow us to drop our jaws. This means that the current Boxster S is 12 seconds faster than the one it replaces, also beating cars like the Cadillac CTS-V and Chevrolet Corvette.
The difference between the generations is reasonable if we take into consideration that the 991 Porsche 911 Carrera S lapped the ‘Ring in 7:40, beating its predecessor by 13 seconds.
PS: No, we couldn’t find the 991 911 Carrera’s Nurburgring time in order to compare this with the 981 Boxster S’ one.
