If there’s one thing Martini is famous for, besides being the maker of the world’s number one vermouth, that would have to be sponsoring several race cars from the 1960s through the 1990s.
We know for a fact that most of you remember the Martini-liveried WRC Lancias or the Brabham BT45 Formula One car, but you must recall the plethora of Porsche vehicles that have raced under the distinctive dark blue, light blue and red stripes. Do the Porsche 917, 911 RSR, 935 or the 936 ring a bell?

Well, it seems that the two companies suddenly decided to re-ignite their motorsport partnership, and the new 911 GT3 Cup car will debut in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup all wrapped in iconic Martini clothes. Not only that, but the occasion also marks Martini’s 150th anniversary and Porsche 911’s 50th anniversary.

“From the first day the beloved stripes of Martini Racing decorated a Porsche 906 in 1968, the illustrious pairing has gone on to claim some of motorsport’s most coveted titles, including numerous Le Mans 24 hours titles, during what is now considered to be a classic period of motorsport.  We’re excited to be once again partnering with Martini in its 150 Anniversary year,” said Jonas Krauss, Head of Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

The distinctive Martini-liveried POrsche 911 GT3 will be driven by famous World Rally Championship ace Sebastien Loeb in two round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, at Catalunya and Monte Carlo.
