Maria Sharapova had quite a good game so far, but the Russian tennis champ didn’t come to Singapore only to win the 2014 WTA Finals. The Porsche ambassador once again hosted a charity event, this time held in the same city where the games take place.
Not a big fan of tennis? You should be considering there are quite a few automakers that sponsor the sport. One of them we really like to talk about often is the German sportscar maker who currently has a contract signed with the gorgeous Russian blond.

And to show they also care about the poor as much as they do for cars (or something), Porsche Singapore recently held a CSR event, organized as a fundraising for the Straits Times Sekolah Pocket Money Fund. The community project supports education for kids that come from poor families.

A tennis racket and a tennis ball both signed by the world champ and exclusive handbag from Porsche Design were auctioned. The fundraising event managed to gather around SGD 50,000 ($ 40,000). To make the event even more interesting, Sharapova also played a short tennis match with her little fans, while reporters pictured her beautiful smile.

This is the first time the finals are held in Singapore, and I’m very happy to be here, especially that I got a chance to join a good cause in Singapore. I am privileged to be here and it's a great honor for me,” Sharapova told reporters.
