When a Porsche 959 with a microscopic mileage (read: 800 miles) shows up at a small car event, you can expect the retro Zuffenhausen halo car to cause a massive stir.
After all the 959 did become a street-legal car only because Porsche had to obtain Group B rallying homologation. So treating one as a garage queen will obviously make many aficionados angry.
The Ferrari F40 archenemy came to a car meet held in Cleveland, Ohio. As you can see in the image above, which comes from Redditor ramen_poodle_soup, the contraption was photographed right next to an Aston Martin dealership.
Nevertheless, the Aston dealership shares its parking lot with a Porsche dealer, so the Gaydon badge seen here is legit - speaking of the image's background, you should also check out the facial expression of the guy in the polo shirt. It says quite a lot about the 959's aura.
The odometer reading on this Porscha obviously led to a massive debate on Reddit, on whether such a car should be kept in pristine condition or driven as its maker intended it too. Then again, with a little under 350 cars being produced, the decision is not an easy one.
And while people may find reasons to frown at the owner of this 959, the fact that he hasn't driven the hell out of his all-wheel-drive machine shouldn't be one of them. That's because the man reportedly owns two 959s. The other one is said to be White and pack the kind of mileage that has many stories to tell - perhaps being able to grab your hands on a pair of 959s means this guy has to face tons of envy, but at least he can't be accused of aggravated garage queening.
As for the kind of tales that can ensue when one decides to use his 959 without worrying about the problems that can show up, here's an example of a situation that can make the owner of the car regret such a decision.
