Porsche 930 Slantnose Abandoned in Pittsburgh Garage, People Looking to Claim It

There’s something about abandoned cars that will never cease to fascinate us humans and yet certain forgotten vehicles are more special than others. Such is the case with the Porsche in the adjacent image, which is currently causing a bit of a stir on Reddit.
The retro Zuffenhausen machine was discovered in what was described as a “shady” garage in Pittsburgh. Any abandoned Porsche would be an interesting find, but the Flachbau (the German moniker for that flat nose) takes that to a whole new level.

Still, this might not be what it seems. It’s rather difficult to tell from this image, but it looks like this isn’t the original 930-generation 911 flat nose. While the original car adopted the 935-like front fascia instead of the usual 911 face, that was a steel work with pop-up headlights, while this looks like its one of the many aftermarket conversions that were subsequently launched, which would also mean we are dealing with fiberglass.

Moreover, we can’t know for sure if this Porsche is a Turbo or not. Even if you’re not all that passionate about 1970s Porsches, you should know details such as the aforementioned ones could triple the price of the car, even in its current state.

The people want to grab the car

The Redditors have started effervescent discussions about how such a car could be claimed. This is obviously a legal issue and, if somebody actually puts enough effort into it and has the luck to deal with an owner who doesn’t care about the Porsche anymore, this piece of German metal could very well receive a second life next year.

For the record, a bit of rust has reportedly appeared on the underbody of the 911, while the all the tires all flat. While we can’t see the cabin, that is where most issues with such cars usually arise, so hopefully Santa will bring this car to a new owner who deserves it.
