Porsche’s brand new 919 Hybrid race car, which is scheduled to debut in this year’s World Endurance Championships and mark the brand’s return to Le Mans as an LMP1 contender, surfaced the Internet in its full racing livery ahead its public unveiling at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
As you’ll notice in the photos uploaded below, which were leaked via Twitter earlier today, the 919 Hybrid will hit the track using a livery similar to the one the brand new Porsche 911 RSR was wrapped in.

In case you missed it, the prototype race car is powered by a four-cylinder engine and two energy recuperation systems and will compete against Audi and Toyota in the 2014 World Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Porsche has appointed six drivers for their LMP1 entries, including Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas, Neel Janni, Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley and Marc Lieb. Webber joined the Stuttgart stable after terminating his contract with Formula One team Red Bull Racing.

The German manufacturer says that the 919 Hybrid name “follows on from the tradition of the 917, but it is also with a view” to the recently unveiled 918 Spyder, and “acknowledges the company’s embarkation into the hybrid future.”

Stay tuned for live photos with the Porsche 919 Hybrid LMP from the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
