Porsche 918 Spyder vs. 950 HP Nissan GT-R, a Stereotypical Drag Race

These drivers pump up their GT-Rs to extreme levels, and instead of battling it out with the Neunelfer, they aim for the big daddy, the 918 Spyder. The latest example of this comes from the video below, which sees a Martini livery 918 duking it out with a Nissan GT-R tuned by SP Engineering.

The GT-R seen here has been pushed to almost twice its factory output, with the JDM machine now delivering 950 hp. The Nissan meets the Porsche on an airfield runway, with the two drivers having all the space in the world to fight.

The two take part in a half-mile battle, where the trap speed is what matters. This is a rather important aspect and, for one thing, it means the Porsche driver's late start is not exactly relevant here.

As for the guy in the GT-R, he was more than determined to win the fight, which is why he delivered a perfect take-off - we have to explain the two used what can be described as a human Christmas Tree.

We're not here to ruin the fun by mentioning the exact velocities these two octane behemoths delivered at the end of the fight. However, we can tell you the mph difference between the two is extremely small.

At the end of the day, a 950 hp GT-R remains a tuned Nissan, while the 918 Spyder is still the pinnacle of contemporary Porsche technology. But this is the kind of approach that simply doesn't work anymore.
