This is your first chance to take a look inside the belly of the beast, Porsche’s brand new and ultra expensive supercar called the 918 Spyder. The company has officially confirmed this will be a very advanced and revolutionary hybrid limited production car with the Performance of a Lamborghini Aventador and the fuel consumption of a Toyota Prius.
Naturally, for a car that only the ultra-wealthy will be able to afford, the interior is also something very special. The center console is made up of three large instrument clusters. The rev counter appears to go all the way to 10,000 rpm, which is amazing for a V8 but explains how they’re getting so much power out of a 4.6-liter engine.
The center console is dominated by a gigantic horizontal LCD display which is held in place by what seems to be a carbon-fiber dash. The gear shifter has become a little knob over by the steering wheel. We still don’t know how this will be engaged, but the 918 will likely have an all-electric mode.
The 918 will most likely be race... a lot. A clear indication of this is the fact that its livery is inspired by the 918 race car from the 1970.
