The 918 Spyder has been such a public car that we sometimes forget where the line between the production and prototype model is drawn. Ever since the first concept came out, this car has managed to fascinate us not through design or luxury, but through evolution and numbers.
We've seen hp figures rise in the face of competition from McLaren and Ferrari. The 918 is almost ready, and yet we still manage to see these test prototypes here and there. This one was filmed in an underground parking lot somewhere in Stuttgart.

With a minivan filled with engineers in tow, the prototype sets off, not before revealing some of its secrets. DrGumo, who filmed the car, says the following elements on it are not production-ready:

  • Porsche Carrera GT (980) roof
  • Porsche Carrera GT (980) door opener
  • Porsche 911 Carrera (991) rear lights
  •  fixed rear wing
  • missing covers at the top pipes
  • missing porsche crest on the hood
  • black sinstead instead of acid green brake caliper
