The Porsche 918 Spyder’s updated performance numbers are still hot off the press, but now the hybrid hypercar is back in the headlines for a negative reason, having crashed on the German Autobahn.
The adjacent images show a 918 Spyder that had been involved in an accident on the Autobahn, in the proximity of Stuttgart, Porsche’s home city. There are no details about the crash at this point, but it appears that bad weather played a role in this.
An ambulance arrived at the scene of the crash, but that is the only clue we have at the moment. Porshce hasn’t start delivering the 918 Spyder to the customers yet, so we are dealing with an official car here, perhaps a prototype.
Like we said, we're not aware of the circumstances that led to the crash, but we can show you a the 918 Spyder handles once the electronic assistance systems are put to sleep.
