The concept car that was first unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show will make its official UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It will take center stage of the Porsche stand at Moving Motor Show.
The 918 Spyder concept previews a production version that’s expected to consume only 3 liters of petrol per 100 km (94 mpg). Those are impressive figures for a car with a 500 horsepower V8, but it’s also helped along by two electric motors that combined offer 218 horsepower.
This drop-top model delivers performance worthy of being called Porsche’s flagship. The 918 Spyder concept accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a maximum of 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of more than 320 km/h (199 mph). What’s more, you can run on electric power alone for in excess of 25km (16 miles) or at speeds as high as 150 km/h (94 mph).
