Porsche 911 Turbo S Drag Races Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Ruins The Fun

The lineup we have here might surprise you and that's because there doesn't seem to by any logic behind it. Then again, who needs logic when you have such velocity tools to throw at each other?

The go-fast machines mentioned above battled it out in one-on-one adventures and, as you've noticed in the title, we focused on the sprinting fight between the 560 hp Porsche 911 Turbo S and the 640 hp Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder.

All this Lamborghini versus Porsche talks means we have to remind you that the past few years have seen the two automotive producers engaging in a fierce war. Straight-line stunts apart, this involves the Nurburgring production car lap record.

It all started with the Germans shashing the record back in 2013, thanks to the 918 Spyder setting a lap time of 6:57. Things remained calm until last year, when the Lamborghini Huracan Performante (we're obviously talking about the Coupe version of the V10 beast here) managed to blitz the infamous German track in 6:52.

Porsche retaliated with the help of the 991.2 GT2 RS, which went round the Nordschleife in 6:47. However, the Italian once again took the crown this summer, announcing that the Aventador Superveloce Jota can play the Ring game in 6:44.

Then again, with Porsche having set an absolute Nurburgring record thanks to the 919 Evo unleashed racecar's attack (think: 5:19.5), the Stuttgart automaker isn't exactly worried about the competition from Lamborghini.
