Porsche 911 Turbo Driver Wrecks His Car In Severe "Traction Control Off" Case

The Porsche 911 line-up contains more engaging and Zuffenhausen fetish-appealing models than the Turbo/Turbo S, but none of them is as capable when it comes to delivering a mix between sheer speed and preventing drivers from potentially hurting themselves.

However, when the human behind the wheel decides to turn the electronic nannies off, things can easily end up badly, as highlighted by this set of photos.

The driver of this 991.1 generation Porsche reportedly switched off PSM (Porsche Stability Management), while mixing a ramp with some throttle abuse.

And you don't need to be a specialist to figure out this 911 Turbo got totaled in the accident that followed the said maneuver.

Redditor PwNAR3S photographed the poor rear-engined coupe after the car had been taken to a Porsche dealership and here's the explanation he received when asking about the crash that tore the supercar apart: "The service tech told me the driver was on a clover on ramp going 65 mph, had the traction control turned off, got on the gas and scared them self. Let fully off the gas which caused the weight to shift to the front tires and whipped them into the wall,"

And while the active part of the Turbo's safety package was prohibited from doing its job, it seems the passive safety bit delivered the expected German results: "There were no other cars involved, and the driver and passenger walked away without a scratch,"

Even so, we're ready to bet the accident resulted in quite a headache, presumably for somebody in an insurance office.

Oh well, at least the rear-engined nature of the coupe means the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six wasn't torn apart in the crash. So there's still hope for the 560 ponies that used to animate this Neunelfer. According to the said Redditor, at least three people have asked about the cost of the motor until now, so you shouldn't feel bad for thinking about it.
