In a rather unsurprising piece of news, we’ll tell you that... Porsches are reliable cars. German Inspection Agency, TUV, has recently placed the Porsche 911 at the top of its age category on a list of the most reliable cars.
To be more precise, the 911 registered the smallest number of issues in general technical inspections for vehicles with an age of seven, nine and eleven years of age.

And it’s not just the 911 that will keep you away from the service: the Boxster and the Cayman also come with this asset. The tree models have earned the five best rankings for all age groups.

The TUV report is based on data gathered from around eight million general technical inspections that took place between July 2010 and June 2011. It also reveals that almost 18 percent of 7-year old, 22 percent of 9-year old and 26 percent of 11-year old cars has serious problems that meant they could only receive the TUV certificate the second time they were evaluated.
