No matter what we do, Mondays are never going to be the most pleasant days of the week. But that seems to be especially true now that winter is slowly beginning placing its grip on the auto nation. The roads are wet, you need to keep your heater on all the time and there's no point in taking trips to the ocean in the convertible. Not that many people have convertibles any more. From little Peugeot to large Mercs, rag-tops used to be all over the place. But most motorists are too chicken to brave the weather nowadays. Porsche's still brand-new 911 Targa seems to offer a solution to every convertible problem. It's as beautiful as a coupe, if not more so, and puts the wind in your hair without compromising on comfort. We've had more than our fair share of fun times with a red Targa 4S, enough to know the ins and outs of the car. However, this next clip shows a Targa wearing the no-cost optional color Racing Yellow, which we think is like a full cup of Sunny Delight to start our morning. As usual, the roof mechanism of the new Targa is like a perfectly orchestrated ballet of mechanical dancers. It easily makes it to the top of our list for most complicated folding roof mechanisms. Looking into the future
Even though the model is among the youngest in Porsche's arsenal, the Targa will receive cosmetic updates as part of the 991 mid-life facelift. We have documented spy photos of a test prototype to show you, but the car is in a depressing shade of black, so only look at those photos later in the day.
