It's enough to put the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Nurburgring into the same sentence to guarantee one hell of a show. And when the said rear-engined animal has received a few extra track-savvy touches, you can expect the resulting Green Hell stint to be memorable.
We even have a number that can help us quantify the said adventure: 7:09.59. This is the lap time a Manthey Racing-touched Porsche 911 GT3 RS has recently managed to set while blitzing the infamous German circuit.

The shenanigan came as part of a Sport Auto test, with the German magazine being an authority when it comes to independent Nordschleife times.

And, thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, you can see the mag's Christian Gebhard manhandling the 500 hp Neunelfer on the Ring.

Manthey Racing is a semi-factory owner racing and tuning shop, with one of its most recent track-confined projects being the MR incarnation of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. It seems that the GT3 RS, which is a 7:20 car in factory stock form, only received minor touches, such as aero and wheel changes.

Truth be told, the 911 GT3 RS PDK needed such a stunt to stay under the spotlights. You see, with Zuffenhausen having delivered the 2018 GT3 and GT2 RS this year, the GT3 RS remains the only member of the Neunelfer breed that hasn't been touched by the 991.2 mid-cycle revamp. And it's not just the freshness of the said 2018 models that affects the aura of the GT3 RS - for the sake of comparison, we'll mention that the 2018 GT3 can lap the Nurburgring in 7:12.7.

And, if we are to trust the unofficial talk, the German automotive producer won't introduce the revamped incarnation of the RS until next year.

Nevertheless, the GT3 RS, be it in PDK form or not (yes, somebody actually built a manual example), will always hold a special place in the garage that is our heart.
