We had to admit we were starting to wonder when the internet would deliver its next purist-offending rendering and, even though we had to wait a little before getting our answer, this comes as the kind of can't-be-unseen mashup.
We're referring to the pixel manipulation you can see here, which sees a Porsche 911 GT3 RS PDK getting dissected, then put back together and having its 4.0-liter flat-six replaced with a Chevy V8 in the process.
The visual creation comes from digital artist Khyzyl Saleem. The young Brit, whose day-dreaming contraptions we had featured on numerous occasions, also took the time to describe his latest work: "Felt like reverting back to my old style for a bit, fun times. This beasty is powered by a Eagle MK5 F5000 Chevy V8. Woops,"
To be honest, it's not just purists who would become infuriated over such a four-wheeled creature becoming metal and carbon fiber reality - we'd also be upset to see the rare Rennsport machine being abused in such a way.
Nevertheless, there are a few ways in which such a project could get out approval. First of all, let's imagine that, against our best hopes, the GT3 RS crash we recently brought you turns out to be a terminal frame damage episode. Well, that would be the perfect occasions for the track special's leftovers to be turned into a build such as the one portrayed here.
Then there's the "normal" 911 path - we'd have no issue with a non-GT Neunelfer serving as the base for such a project, just like we didn't fret over the Porsche Cayman V8 engine swap we recently showed you.
You know, the ex-gen Cayman S whose onwer had somehow managed to blow the factory flat-six. The man decided to occupy the middle section (and a bit of the rear) of his Zuffenhausen machine with a Coyote motor. As you can imagine, the Ford 5.0-liter V8 gifted the Cayman with plenty of extra muscle, but, as we said when first reporting on the topic, we hope somebody took the time to sort out the handling balance that defines all Porsches.
