Porsche 911 GT3 Random Tourist Lap on Nurburgring Is Still Hardcore as Hell

We write about the Nurburgring almost every day and with every occasion we mention the Green Hell, something extreme has to happen. From fans awaiting lap times on their toes to crashes, the Nordschleife is a mad place to be.

Today we’ve decided to bring you a casual lap of the ‘Ring, one done during the Touristernfahrten public days. Of course, since we’re talking about a Porsche 911 GT3 and a rather keen drivers, things can only be so casual.

The GT3 driver explains this is not a hot lap, “just a few powerslides and fun in the traffic of a Touristic Drive”. The footage offers an interesting POV take on the matter. For one thing, such a perspective would be almost impossible to achieve in real life, since no sane adult would fold himself of herself into the rear seats of a 911 during a Nordschleife lap.

For instance, the video allows us to see just how difficult of a job a car’s suspension has during such a run.

Sure, the guy does include taking things a bit too far on this fast-paced menu. We’re talking about the pass at the 3:44 mark, when the Porsche overtakes a Renault Twingo RS on the right. That’s something that can get you a ban on the Ring and for good reason.

Still, this lap is one of the reasons for which we love Porsche’s GT cars, as they bring out the racing spirit in all of us.
