A Porsche 911 GT3 PDK is the kind of machine that doesn't mind if you spend more time together on the track than on the street. Nevertheless, if you're willing to act like you drive a racecar, you'd better turn your GT3 into such a machine.
This is precisely what happened to the GT division Neunelfer in these images. According to California-based Porsche specialist GMG Racing, the GT3 "has undergone a complete Cup Car conversion,"
We're dealing with an overly complex transformation, as the GT3 Cup, which represents the track-confined incarnation of the model, differs from the street car in many other ways than one might imagine.
Sure, the aero changes, led by that massive rear wing, are obvious, but it's the transformation beneath the skin that matters the most when it comes to such a velocity beast. From the center-lock wheel setup to the brakes, this Zuffenhausen machine has received one hell of an upgrade.
The aftermarket specialist, which also races Porsches and Lamborghinis, has added its own touch to the Porscha melange. To be more precise, the GT3 received GMG-signed suspension bits, headers, a center-section exhaust, as well as a harness bar.
The visual icing on the cake came in the form of BBS FI-R wheels, which, in keeping with the desert theme, were given a custom Candy Red finish. Factor in the lack of sponsor decals and you end up with nothing short of a sight for sore eyes.
Before we invite you to check out the tech-fetishy details in these pics, we'd like to remind you that the Porsche 911 GT3 R is the world's best-selling racecar, having convinced north of 2,600 customers since the German automaker introduced it back in 1998. And to understand how the conversion seen here was possible, you should know the GT3 and the GT3 R share their production line in Stuttgart.
