Porsche's list of optional extras is a micro universe that can see an aficionado wondering about for quite a while, all in the search of the perfect spec. After all, when you can choose the color of the air vent slats, spending so much time to decided is only normal. Well, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS scale model that brought us here today demonstrates that the same level of attention to detail can also be found in the miniature world.
Let's get things straight - we're dealing with a custom interior for a 911 GT2 RS 1:18 scale model, with the project still being in progress, hence the various edges here and there. Nevertheless, the tiny cabin is now an amazing place, as one would expect from a hand-specced one-off.
This project sitting before us includes the dashboard, the seats, the center console, along with the door cards of the Nurburgring-taming Neunelfer.
The starting point for the project was a Spark model, which came with a black and red cabin, possibly mirroring the launch interior configuration you'll find in the gallery above. Well, the cabin has been painted black all over, albeit with different textures applied for the leather, alcantara and carpets.
And the devil is in the (colored) details with this one. We have contrast stitching in both white and yellow, while the latter hue is also found on the seat belts and the door pulls, as well as on the headrest "embroidery" and the steering wheel 12 o'clock marker.
I also have to mention the half-cage (Clubsport Package, anybody?), which comes in a shade of grey that easily sets it apart from the rest of the cabin.
PS: I've asked Exclusive Porsche Models, the label behind this small-scale build, for a photo of the original interior, so we can all enjoy the before and after game - I'll update the post if the said pic shows up.
Update:You can find three photos of the 1:18 scale model's factory interior at the end of the gallery above.
