Porsche 911 GT2 RS Owner Configures Car Without Full Bucket Seats, Causes a Stir

Can any part of the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS be amusing? Keep in mind that we're talking about $300,000 Porscha that now holds the record for the quickest production car on the Nurburgring.

The answer is obviously positive - you just have to know where to look, namely deep within Porschephille communities.

Let's take the Rennsport Neunelfer in the image we have here for instance. While it might be difficult to look past the mesmerizing aero package of the 700 hp rear-paw beast, doing so will reveal that the cabin doesn't accommodate the full bucket seats we've seen on all-out Zuffenhausen machines such as the 918 Spyder.

And the fact that this Neunelfer has been configured without the circuit-ready seats has drawn criticism on Instagram. And this is the bit that, at least in our book, qualifies as humor.

The irony here is that many of those who point their fingers at a Porsche 911 GT2 RS that doesn't pack the bucket units have never spent time behind the wheel of a supercar, at least not one wearing the Porsche crest.

If they had done so, the aficionados would've been aware of the fact that the units we have here, namely the 18-Way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, might just be the coziest you can currently find in a supercar.

This kind of seats makes the difference between feeling comfortable inside your ride for one hour and extending that interval to multiple hours. We see nothing wrong with somebody willing to make a GT2 RS more suitable for longer trips.

Note that the car does feature the Weissach Package, another option that, when left unticked, can cause purists to go wild. Nevertheless, we've already shown you how a no-Weissach Rennsport model looks in the real world.

And yes, that is a 2019 Porsche Cayenne behind the said rear-engined monster.
