In theory, Porsches are the kind of machines that can deliver phenomenal velocity kicks while keeping their occupants cozy in a styling environment and not letting others know about their wealth. In the real world, though, Zuffenhausen machines can also be used to play games. And this is precisely what happened during a recent track day, one that involve a Porsche 911 GT2 RS and a Cayenne Turbo Coupe.
Given the Turbo part of the badge, this sloping roofline Cayenne is far from the slowest model of the German automaker's lineup. However, you don't need to know your cars to be aware of the fact that the high-rider is no match for the Rennsport Neunelfer. Heck, a glance at the extreme aero of the 911 will tell a five-year-old that.

So, with the two sharing the said track day event, it looks like their drivers decided to play a little game: the 700 horsepower track special decided to stick behind and let the 550 horsepoer SUV set the pace.

Now, as you'll get to see in the piece of footage below, which documents the adventure, the Caynne Turbo Coupe held its own rather well against the army of sportscars and supercars deployed at the velocity event.

Then again, the SUV did pack the proper optional extras for being taken to the limit on the circuit. For instance the machine seems to be fitted with the optional carbon roof, which not only brings the overall scale footprint of the car down, but also lowers its center of gravity.

In fact, the encounter between the two Porschas reminds me of a render we discussed back in March. This portrayed a go-fast versions of the Cayenne Turbo Coupe, one that had been virtually gifted with elements borrowed from the... 911 GT2 RS.

And while such a story might sound like an Internet fetish, a real-world machine of the sort might just make sense - think of a Clubsport racecar that would compete against the Lamborghini Urus ST-X.
