Have you ever been to a car meet and came across a familiar face, do you know that feeling? Well, this is precisely what I experienced earlier today, when I came across a video showcasing the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Longtail.
I had come across this contraption back in the summer and many of you seemed to be rather interested, so now I figured I would return to the topic, especially since we can check it out in motion.

The LT treatment is purely aeshtetic, unlike in the case of Porsche racecars, where the added rear end real estate brought high-end stability. Heck, the latest example of this comes not fron Porsche, but from Bugatti, with its 300+ mph Chiron edition.

That's because we're talking about lower mounts for the factory wing, which come in the form of aluminum brackets. Of course, this means the wing will actually create drag without the proper downforce benefits, but the Internet has done sillier things for attention.

Then we have the rear wheels of the Porscha, namely forged aluminum monoblock rims that use styling tricks borrowed from the Turbofans of the retro racing days. Once again, it doesn't seem like the wheel bring the real Turbofan benefits, namely air extraction from under the car and added downforce.

So, why would anybody wish to install such bits on a 911 GT2 RS, particularly one fitted with the go-faster Weissach Package and magnesium wheels like the example in the video?

Well, let's just say there are a lot of owners who would've loved a modern-day 935, the modern-day tribute to the original racer, which is based on the 991.2 2RS, but couldn't get their hands on one.

So, as I mentioned in the past, you might want to bring the car back to its factory configurations once you're done turning heads with this LT play.
