We've shown you tons of adventures involving the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, with many of this showing the Rennsport Neunelfer winning various battles. Well, the test we're here to deliver is different, since this highlights the Rennsport Neunelfer in the posture of a third-place machine.
To be more precise, we're looking at the 2RS hitting the track in a magazine test, with Motorsport Magazine having taken the 700 hp toy to Magny Cours.

Thanks to the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, we can see the Porscha flying on the French track, but the surprise arrives at the end of the clip, when the chronograph number of the Zuffenhausen toy is delivered.

As we mentioned in the title above, the rear-engined machine falls behind two of its competitors, namely the McLaren 720S and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

And while we don't have a Nurburgring lap time for the Woking animal, the GT2 RS is famous for having stolen the Raging Bull's Nurburgring production car lap record - the first took 6:47 to complete the task, while the second needed 6:52 for the job.

Then again, this test packs multiple flaws. Some might wonder about the difference made by the driver, but we have to explain that the same editor (Nicolas Gourdol) hooned all the supercars.

However, the three weren't tested in the same conditions. More importantly, the rubber factor, which can make a world of a difference, is the one that separates the cars.

To be more precise, while the Porsche used Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the Huracan Performante and the 720S turned to Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber, which is stickier.

So while we can't trust the stopwatch numbers, this test still gives us the opportunity to check out the rear-engined beast at work, so we can all enjoy it.
