The Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Lamborghini Aventador S might have extremely different ways of delivering their kicks, but these two supercars have more in common than it might seem.
We'll quickly get over the fact that they both come from the Volkswagen Group vault and talk about the Nurburgring. As track day aficionados among you know, the 2RS (6:47) stole the Lamborghini Huracan Performante's (6:52) Ring production car lap record. Nevertheless, the title went back into Sant'Agata Bolognese's trophy cabinet, thanks to the Aventador, albeit in SVJ trim, covering the task in 6:44.97.

However, the adventure that brought us here today involves a straight-line battle, one that saw the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Lamborghini Aventador S racing on an airfield in Sweden.

In theory, the 740 hp Raging Bull and the 700 hp Zuffenhausen machine deliver similar acceleration numbers, but this involves ideal driving conditions and equally skilled drivers.

For instance, both supercars need 10.1 seconds to complete the quarter-mile, while requiring 18.6 seconds for the standing kilometer. Note that these numbers come from independent test and are the best achieved to date.

Returning to the drag race that awaits you in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, the adventure comes from a YouTuber who got behind the wheel of the Aventador S, but, as you'll notice, the all-paw launch control of the Italian exotic wasn't everything, so perhaps extra practice is required.

If the location of the battle seems familiar, it's probably because we've shown you other races that took place during the said event. These included even more exclusive machine and, for example, we'll remind you of the drag brawl between the Ferrari F50 and the Porsche Carrera GT.

P.S.: You'll find the racing action at the 4:30 point of the video (we're not aware if the Ferrari nameplate reference was intended or not).
