At the 2011 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, Subaruwrxfan filmed this very interesting silver Porsche. It’s a replica for the Porsche 904, originally built between 1964 and 1965.
At the time it was called the Carrera GTS and it was viewed as an attempt from Porsche to focus on sportscar racing again, after the German company retired from F1 in 1962. At the time, only 106 cars were built in order to adhere to FIA Group 3 homologation rules.

Unlike the original which had a 2.0-liter displacement and 198 horsepower, this RWD replica built by Chuck Beck features a more modern 3.6-liter engine with 285 hp. It’s also got ventilated brakes and other modern features that ensure it handles well and is a easier car to live with.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
