Porsche 550 Spyder and 981 Boxster at Moscow Auto Show

Open-top sportscars are truly important for Porsche from the company’s inception to modern days. One of the latest is the new 981 Boxster, a car which draws its inspiration from a very long tradition of making such vehicles, starting with the famous 550 Spyder.
For 2012, Porsche’s Boxster is all-new, featuring a lightweight construction, more power and a longer wheelbase. Both cars were brought to the 2012 Moscow International Motor Show to show the evolution of sportscars under the Porsche brand.

It’s not yet clear what will happen to the 550 Spyder revival project. A new sportscar, designed as an entry to the Porsche range and as a spiritual successor was rumored to be developed together with VW and Audi models. But the project was drop completely, after which Porsche was rumored to be going at it alone.
