Pope Francis Auctions His New Harley-Davidson for Homeless Charity

Pope Francis is auctioning a Harley-Davidson bike. The bike will go under the hammer, but not because the Vatican needs more money: the Catholic leader will use the funds for a charitable goal.

Harley-Davidson presented Pope Francis with a brand new bike during the 110th anniversary celebrations in Rome, Italy. The Pope also signed two H-D tanks and blessed riders by the thousands, showing genuine brotherly love for the motorcyclist believers.

However, it looks like the Pope values his charitable mission even more than American cruisers and has donated the bike to the Caritas charity. They will see that the bike is auctioned and will use the money for the renovation of the hostel and soup kitchen in the vicinity of Rome's Termini station which takes care of homeless people.

Pope Francis is known for his modest preferences as far as cars and other similar mundane belongings are concerned, so seeing him auctioning his Harley is only a good match for choosing the Fiat instead of the luxurious Mercedes-Benz the former Pope used.
