Pontiac GTO "Drama King" Shows Forbidden Livery in Powerful Rendering

The sheer fact that one may easily recognize the actual livery adorning the widebody lines of the digitally restomodded Pontiac GTO sitting before us says something about the tobacco industry's perseverance.

Yasid Oozeear, the digital artist who came up with this proposal, was in the giggle mood, so the white-and-red color play actually (almost) displays the name of a fast-food giant that has also worked its way into popular culture. So now you know what led to us introducing the nickname in the title.

This pixel portrait is an opportunity for us to zoom in on what's happening in the real world, where tobacco companies are returning to F1 cars via the smoke-and-mirrors pathway (pun intended).

While back in the 1970s and 1980s tobacco funding was one of the major driving forces in motorsport, the names of cigarette brands were removed from the teams' colors in the mid-2000s as a result of stricter advertising regulations, albeit with the ties between the two industries remaining in place for potential opportunities.

And those opportunities eventually showed up in the final part of last decade, with e-cigarettes fueling a comeback. We're talking about Ferrari signing a deal with Marlboro owner Philip Morris International and McLaren reaching an agreement with British American Tobacco, while the display of the two companies' "potentially reduced risk" product branding on F1 cars continues to cause controversy.

With that out of the way, you should know the artist also showcases a different livery for the Poncho we have here, which you'll find in the second Instagram post below.

Regardless of the attire, the 1965 Pontiac GTO has been gifted with an extreme aero approach that makes one think of the racing realm. From the extreme aero bits adorning the lower side of the vehicle to the widebody approach and the rollcage adorning the cabin, this Poncho looks like it's ready to challenge the stopwatch. So, dear purists, you could perhaps find a bit of comfort in the wing's functional role.

And, thanks to the side pipes and the custom wheels (would you look at those generous lips at the back!), the profile of the vehicle is just as aggressive as the front end or the posterior.

Now, those of you who are tuned into our Speed Shot tales might be experiencing a bit of déjà vu and that's because Oozeear recently delivered an even more extreme take on the '65 GTO, taking the model that popularized the muscle car breed down the six-wheeler route via a concept that reminds one of the Tyrell P34 Formula One car introduced back in 1976, which links the steering wheel to no less than four wheels.
