Polish Supercar Arrinera Hussarya Reaches Production Form

Apart from revealing the looks of the thing, the move finally puts the company’s design issues to rest. We’ll remind you that the concept car previewing the Hissarya was accused of being a replica. Arrinera reacted by explaining the production version would be different. Well, it looks like designer Pavlo Burkatskyy has truly made that happen.

The first unit of the actual car is set to have its building process started this week, following the hundreds of hours spent by the prototype on the track. Limited series production is set to debut soon, with Arrinera planning to make about 100 of these per year.

Arrinera still hasn’t chosen the color, but the company did announced it is working with US supplier PPG on this.

We’d like to remind you that the body panels on the Hussarya are made of composite material. According to the buyer’s budget, these could use Kevlar and carbon fiber. As for the chassis, this is made of high-strength steel. The final curb weight figure hasn’t been released, but the engineers are targeting 2,900 lbs (1,315 kg). They have not mentioned if this has been set for the standard model or the planned Track Package.

At the center of the Hussarya, we find a supercharged GM 6.2-liter V8, which churns out 650 hp and 604 lb-ft (818 Nm) of torque. This is mated to a an automated manual transmission. Supplied by Italian producer CIMA, the gearbox offers six ratios.

The preliminary performance numbers sound respectable, despite not rewriting the rules of the segment. The 0 to 60 mph (96 kmh) sprint sits at 3.2 seconds, while the quarter mile should be over in 11 seconds. As for the top speed, this is expected to sit at 211 mph (340 km/h).

When Arrinera was in the process of preparing us for the Hussarya, the company said its supercar would have a starting price of US$ 160,000 (roughly EUR100,000). Nonetheless, the multiple upgrades received by the vehicle will probably boost its price.

PS: Lou Cheeka, our guest editor could not help but notice the short distance between “Hussarya” and “Huayra”.
