Polaris announces a new military-grade ATV, in the shape of the Sportsman WV850 H.O., a machine which will be available to customers from December 2013.
Non-Pneumatic (airless) tires have been under development for some time now at Polaris, and earlier this year the manufacturer started offering them as an option for the Polaris Defense vehicles.
According to Polaris, the Terrain Armor tires also "offer a better center of gravity, improved cornering due to less pushing and the capability for the tires to be designed for a diverse range of applications."
The new Sportsman WV850 H.O. Is offered with a fully-automatic single-speed transmission with reverse gear, upgraded suspensions, better cooling, 600-pound (271 kg) luggage racks, an 1500 lbs (680 kg) hitch receiver and a heavy duty 3500-pound (1585 kg) winch.
Power comes from an 850cc EFI twin and with 11.75 gallons (44.5 l) of fuel aboard, this machine seems hard to stop. Prices start at $14,999 (€11,030).
