Polaris Builds the Slingshot Reverse Trike

It's now official: Polaris will build the reverse trike they call Slingshot, and will thus add a new product family to their line-up this year.

The Slingshot is said to receive a GM 2.4-liter Ecotech 4-cyclinder engine which delivers around 200 hp, and will most likely receive a belt final drive, with electronic power steering, ABS, traction and stability control, though no info on whether these will be all standard or not was released.

Just like other similar machines, such as the Campagna V13R or the KTM X-Bow (though a 4- wheeler), the Slingshot will have a steering wheel and side by side configuration.

The Slingshot was confirmed by Polaris in an official press release, while UBS Investment Research predicted that it will be released in 2014, as well as Indian outselling Victory Motorcycles. The Slingshot receiving the right price tag could really make a big difference...
