When it comes to old school pony and muscle cars, not much beats the visual and aural appeal of a Plymouth Barracuda. Of course, I'm referring to the 1970 to 1974 models of the breed, the ones that didn't share the commonality of the Plymouth Valiant.
If you're searching for the best example of this rarefied lineage in existence today, look no further than this 1970 Plymouth HEMI Cuda. There are two main reasons why this is the hottest Cuda around right now: it's been driven only 81 miles (130 km) throughout its entire life, and it's in pristine condition yet unrestored.

Slated to cross the auction block between May 12 and 17 at Mecum's Indy 2015 auction, this piece of American muscle is estimated to change hands for anything between $600,000 to $800,000.

The lowest-mileage HEMI Cuda known to exist is exactly as any enthusiast would want it to be. One of the last 10 HEMI Cuda examples to be built in 1970; this car presents itself in original Tor Red paint complemented by a black interior.

Equipped with a Torqueflite automatic channeling the 426 cu.in. (7-liter) engine's 425 horsepower to the rear wheels, the machine you can admire in the photo gallery below benefits from a Shaker hood with tie downs too. Goodyear Polyglas GT rubber and steel wheels with dog-dish caps are also on the menu.

The textbook definition of an automotive time capsule is unmolested and it's documented with the original broadcast sheet. Furthermore, the 727 automatic transmission and V8 lump are matching numbers. This, ladies and gents that love vintage muscle made in the U.S. of A., is the Holy Grail of Cudas. Full stop.
