One of the things that everybody needs to know about Android Auto is that some of the bugs that users come across when running it don’t necessarily come down to this app alone.
Because Google developed Android Auto with support for other “external” features, such as Google Assistant, everything that goes wrong with this technology needs to be fixed with updates to the Google app.
The Assistant is bundled with the Google app, so if you previously experienced problems with voice commands or anything else that relied on hands-free controls, Android Auto wasn’t the one to blame.
And Google has lately pushed lots of updates for the Google app, which can only be good news for Android Auto users, especially because there are several problems that the Assistant team is investigating.
The first updates of the month landed on June 2 when Google updated both the stable version and the beta of the Google app. Google app versions 11.8.22 and 11.12.9 beta were released that day, followed by an update for the stable channel to version 11.11.10 on June 3.
The stable build has received a new update on June 4 when Google rolled out Google app version 11.12.10, followed by a beta update on June 5, which brought the app to version 11.13.2 (beta).
Finally, June 6 brought us a new stable update to version 11.13.5, and this is currently the newest release that users can and should get on their devices.
As for what’s being fixed in these updates, nothing is certain for the time being because Google doesn’t provide any release notes for the new versions of the Google app. But the company has already confirmed that it’s working on fixes for the Internet connection is not stable error, the OK Google command not working for some, and a bunch of other problems that are related to the Google app and not to Android Auto itself.
