Playseat F1 Red Bull Racing Game Simulator Unveiled

Dutch-based company Playseat have recently taken the wraps off their latest game seat, developed in partnership with Red Bull Racing, and which targets mostly F1 fans. While the Playseat F1 game seat will only be available from May, it has already managed to catch unexpected attention.

In fact, Playseats founder Fernando Smit says they have already taken orders from Formula 1 drivers, though failing to give any specific names.

“The Austrian firm will be using and promoting the Playseat F1 game seat, designed and developed by Playseats, to take motorsport and the Red Bull Racing brand a step closer to the consumer,” a company statement reads.

Compatible with Playstation2, Playstation3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii and PC, the Playseat F1 Red Bull game simulator is also designed to work with all “steering wheel and pedal sets” on the market.

According to the manufacturer, this is a patented racing seat, boasting key features such as fully adjustable Black coated steel framework, seat upholstered with high quality leather look, black vinyl and red double stitching design. It also comes with a G27 gearshift support included.

“The time that people raced, perched on a kitchen chair with a racing wheel clamped to the table, have been gone for some time now. But the new Playseat formula takes virtual racing to a completely new level. The interaction with the racing game is unrivalled. The user feels every bump in the road surface. People will experience the race as if they are real racing drivers,” says Playseats founder Fernando Smit.

The Playseat F1 Red Bull game simulator will retail for EUR949 (approximately $1,320 at the current exchange rate), excluding steering wheel or pedals.
