Plane Forced to Crash Land on Florida Highway

There you are, minding your own business, driving along with your fellow motorists on a sunny section of the highway in Florida when... oh my God, is that a plane landing in front of you? That might sound like a scene from the last Transformers movie, but we assure you that it really happened in Florida this Wednesday, October 12th.
According to CBS News, this happened on a busy Florida Turnpike near the Hollywood Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon. The pilot reported mechanical problems, but was relatively successful in his landing attempt. Unfortunately, both him and his passenger were injured, though it wasn’t life-threatening.

“At some point, there was a mechanical problem with the plane,”
FHP Sgt. Mark Wysocky told reporters. “The plane was forced to attempt a landing on the northbound lanes of the Turnpike."

Editor’s note: I’m extremely jealous of the pilot - even though he was injured, he managed to pull off a once in a lifetime Hollywood-style maneuver. Good for him, he’ll have something to tell his grandchildren!
