Pitbull’s Protege Young Boss Gets Jeep Wrangler For His Birthday

David Mauricio Bowen-Petterson, better known by his stage name David Rush, recently posted an image of the new Jeep Wrangler he got as a birthday gift. Signed with Pitbull's record label, the 32-year old artist seems to have overcomed his kidney disease and is now preparing to go back to producing music.

Originally from Highland Park, New Jersey, Rush is perhaps best known for his commercial debut single “Shooting Star,” which has a popular remix titled “Party Rock Mix,” featuring American duo LMFAO. In 2007, under the moniker Young Boss, Rush scored his first big feature on the song “Go Girl,” by fellow rapper Pitbull, which peaked at #83 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Following that, he officially changed his stage name to David Rush and the next year released his debut mixtape, Feel the Rush Vol. 1.

Among other songs, his commercial debut single, “Shooting Star” which features Pitbull is also part of his launch. Rush also collaborated with the 2014 World Cup Anthem star in the making of Pitbull’s 2012 album Global Warming, where he featured on a song titled “Everybody Fucks,” alongside African-American R&B singer Akon. Soon after Go Girl hit, David was diagnosed with the kidney disease focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, which he healed from a couple of years later, after getting kidney transplant in 2010.

And now seeing that Young Boss just got himself a new Jeep Wrangler shows as that sometimes in life you need to go through tough experiences to only find that there is good life at the end of the road. We say good for him.
