Pirelli Reveals New PZero Disk_O Watch

Have you ever wanted a watch shaped like a brake disc with a painted red caliper? If your answer was yes, then you might fancy Pirelli’s new addition to its watch series, the new PZero Disk_O Wristwatch.

You might think of Pirelli as just a tire maker, but the company also makes everything from clothing and sneakers to sexy calendars and films. This time they’ve produced a collection of watches inspired by the industrial elegance of disk brakes.

The case of the watch is made of anodized aluminum in the shape of a ventilated brake disc, while the button cluster was created in the shape of a caliper that stops the disc. The timepiece has Swiss chronograph quartz movement that will ensure accurate time-keeping. The case of the watch comes in either black or steel gray while the caliper is yellow or red. We should be really happy they don’t charge extra for painted calipers like Ferrari does. Of course, the Italian rubber king had to create a special rubber wrist-band for the watch (styled after a Formula 1 slick tire).

Not that much can be said about the face of the watch. The large size of the brake disc bevel encircles a smaller crystal screen. Behind that, we can see an analog system with three complications and a small day indicator.

Another brake disc-inspired watch was built by Hublot, namely the so-called F1 King Power that is powered by a HUB 4100 automatic chronograph movement. However, if you're asking us, it's better to buy the Pirelli version and thus save some extra money for buying a real set of Brembo brakes...
