Pirelli Launches Angel ST Motorcycle Tire

Tire manufacturer Pirelli has just announced the availability of the new Angel ST motorcycle tire, “the first tire with a double soul of a Devil for sport and an Angel for touring guardian,” which enters the newly created category of Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) tire.

With this new product, Pirelli aimed to satisfy riders demands of using a tire with high performance, high grip wet or dry, high mileage, and a reasonable cost.

The Angel ST uses Pirelli's patented 0 degrees steel radial belting for a compliant structure, that has improved grip in all conditions on motorcycles from naked 600s to high-horsepower large displacement machines including the Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki ZX14R.

According to the manufacturer, testing has shown a substantial increase in estimated mileage over other supersport and sport touring tires. “Reliable and safe, comfortable and economic, sporting touring is not a contradiction for the Angel ST, it's this tires dual soul,” a company statement says.

By creating and mixing a new profile, new Aromatic OIl free compounds, and a new tread pattern, a balanced performance of Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT), in which the contact patch is optimized through the coordination of these components, resulted.

The new tire, which replaces the Diablo Strada, has already been chosen as the original equipment for the Aprilia Mana GT and Shiver GT, Buell Ulysses XB12XT, and the Moto Guzzi Breva and Norge.

The company had also announced pricing for the Angel ST, with $179.95 for the front and between $211.95 and $246.95 for the rear.
