Pirelii, Formula One's official tyre supplier, has bought a 2011 Hispania Racing Team (HRT) car.
The defunct Spanish F1 team sold its 2011 and 2012 car to well-known automotive component recycler Teo Martin, but according to a Reuters report one of the older single-seaters was acquired by Pirelli.
The tyre manufacturing company has not confirmed the report yet, but it's believed the 2011 HRT will replace Pirelli's current 2010 Renault F1 test car.
Pirelli is the sole tyre supplier in Formula 1, following Bridgestone's withdrawal from the competition at the end of the 2010 season.
The HRT F1 team retired from the World Championship after struggling with financial issues and failing to win a single point in three seasons (56 starts).
Last season's HRT drivers' lineup consisted of Spanish Pedro de la Rosa and Indian Narain Kathikeyan.
