Piquet Jr. Says Senna Would Have Not Been Competitive in Modern F1

After his departure from the glamorous world of Formula One back in the 08/09 season, and his entry into the far-less-glamorous world of NASCAR, Nelson Piquet Jr began ‘bashing’, if you will, some of his former F1 colleagues.

He first began by saying that Romain Grosjean was “lucky because he came (back) at a time when he had a slightly weaker teammate (Kimi Raikkonen) and a very good car" - both drivers racing for what was left of his former team, the ex-works Renault team.

However, he will undoubtedly cause even more discord with his latest statement, when he says that while Senna may have been the talented driving god that he was, but that he would not have won anything in modern F1, despite the fact that “he was very fast”, he would have lost out due to the fact that “he had no talent in terms of the technical and mechanical."

Still, with with three world champion titles, 41 races and 65 pole positions under his beld, Senna is probably looking down and nodding in disapproval - too bad he’s no longer around to prove Piquet Jr, a fellow Brazilian, wrong.
