It’s official, pink is back in fashion in China. To confirm our doubts the guys from carnewschina.com just spotted a BMW E60 5 Series wearing the dreaded color somewhere in Central Beijing.
The car wasn’t stock either, it was decked with all sorts of add-ons meant to make it more attractive, such as the complete M Sport package, new wheels with race tires, black roof, mirrors and front kidney grilles, tinted headlights and a spoiler for the boot, in the same color.
As you probably already assumed, the color of the car was changed from the original but it wasn’t done by a specialized painter but rather by a wrapping specialist. The finishing touch was the ‘Carpe Diem’ sticker on the front windshield.
The E60 5 Series models were built in China by the BMW-Brilliance joint venture and was one of the first Bimmers to be locally built and not imported in the communist country.
