Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina has finally revealed the Sergio Concept, probably one of the most intriguing cars to be seen at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
Along with getting to see the amazing barchetta in its first official photos, we've also found out that the Sergio is actually based on the Ferrari 458 Spider and even wears the Maranello logo on its engine bonnet.
Built as a tribute to Sergio Pininfarina, the company's former Honorary Chairman, who passed away in July 2012 at the age of 85, the new Italian concept is powered by a 4499cc V8. Connected to a sequential seven-speed transmission, the Sergio is able to reach 62 mph from a standing start in just 3.4 second and has a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).
The no-windscreen two-seater that "looks to the future" weighs just 1,280 kilograms (2,821 lbs) and offers a 100-liter boot capacity. Not bad for a Ferrari we might add…
According to Pininfarina, the concept "can easily be produced in limited series of a few units" so don't be surprised if the Cambiano-based company starts taking orders for this exquisite sportscar any time soon.
