Is it a coupe or it is a sedan? That was the unanswered question about the Cambiano Concept, as the Italian design house called it a sedan an released a photo of the car’s left side showing only one door there. “Great, it’s a shooting-brake with seating for four people,” we thought to ourselves. But we were wrong, it has one door on the driver side and two on the passenger, much like the MINI Clubman and Hyundai Veloster.
That’s the first thing you’ll notice from the leaked pictures of the Pininfarina Cambiano Concept that were captured by Italian car magazine Quattroruote. The other thing is that the front looks a lot like a recent Volvo concept, but we’re not going to dwell on that because the stats of the Cambiano are amazing.

This car is an electric vehicle with a diesel microturbine range extender at the front. There’s an electric motor at each axle, producing 80 hp each. Supposedly, that’s enough for a top speed of 275km/h (186mph) and a standard sprint time of just 4.2-seconds.

Why do we get the feeling the Cambiano Concept has never moved an inch on its own?! Either way, more details will be released as it gets its official reveal at the Geneva Motor Show.

autoevolution will be attending the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
