Yacht designs are great at showing us how some folks live on this planet. From fine dining, gyms, libraries, and beach clubs, this is the life most of us want.
The vessel you see in the cover photo is known as the Graceful, a yacht launched in 2013 and designed by one of the leading yacht teams in the world, H2 Yacht Design. If you’ve never heard of this team, not a problem. It’s been around since 1994 when Jonny Horsfield established this studio in London. Since then, they’ve focused mainly on refit projects and have slowly become one of the expert teams to seek out in case you have a yacht shell you’d like to pimp out.

That's really what we’re seeing here aboard the Graceful. The vessel was originally built by Sevmash of Russia. Yes, the exact same Sevmash that fabricates Russia’s nuclear submarines and other naval works. From there, the project was moved to Germany for some attention from another naval giant, Blohm + Voss. It’s here that the final touches and H2’s finesse was applied.

From bow to aft, the entire vessel covers a length of 82 m (269 ft), and in that space is nestled more luxury and opulence than seen in the most recent Bond movie. Don’t believe me? Just have a look in the gallery if you haven’t done so already.

What did you think? Pretty friggin grand if you ask me. Take the winding staircase that allows you to travel to whichever deck you want as an example. Aside from granite steps, each one is also covered by carpeting and the entire space is accented with semi-precious metals leather braiding, and even glass.

Sure, I know it’s just a staircase, but being the most insignificant aspect of a vessel, I decided to use it as an example of what’s to come for the rest of the ship. Let's take the interior swimming pool for instance. It’s that area in which we see a whole lot of lounging chairs. Initially, when the pool is not being used, its surface is sealed by a platform that allows the space to be used as another room for events. When swimming is desired the platform retracts and a pool is revealed.

I would also like to draw your attention to the library aboard the ship. Yes, this vessel is even large enough to include a library. It can be seen in the image with a chair, desk, and the wooden and granite shelves that line the walls.

The main lobby follows the wood, carpet, and granite accents as well. Here we are greeted by Greek-like columns that offers the space an antique and pompous feel. Velvet seating and large pillows keep everyone comfortable. For lighting, massive starboard and port windows offer a natural light that shines wonderfully against the wood grain, keeping the eyes relaxed.

As far as which of the rooms we see is the owner’s loft, there seems to be no way to discern this. Actually, I have noticed this about H2 before; the level of comfort and luxury is expressed nearly at the same level for all guests involved on the journey.

A few other perks we find aboard the Graceful are a gym with the possibility of enjoying your workout outdoors, and obviously a helicopter pad. The upper deck also includes an exterior forward-facing jacuzzi and plenty of lounging options to be spotted as you ride into your next port.

Aft we also find the all-important beach club with interior storage space for any toys you may need. A small wooden deck also offers plenty of room to setup a lounge chair or just dip your feet in shark-infested waters. Just kidding on the shark bit, but you never know what’s lurking beneath.

Personally, I think you have nothing to worry about. As long as you’ve got the cash to afford a vessel like this, or even charter it, you’ve probably got the cash for a new leg in case the shark bit is true.
