Piece of TV History for Sale

The most famous car of the 80's TV shows, the "KITT", is now up for sale at Kassabian Motors, a car dealer in Dublin, California. For those of you who don't remember about KITT, we're talking about the feature car in the Knight Rider series (1982-1986), starring David Hasselhoff.

Out of the four cars remaining, two are in museums and one had all the electronics from the movie removed, so this one represents a unique opportunity.  According to the seller, the car has been restored to its original condition from series 1 of the show, including original interior fabric, operational stunt brake switch (installed by stuntman Jack Gill for rear brake lock up.), original dashboard and only 2,393 miles on the clock.

The car is not road legal though, but maybe that is better, because this way it has good chances of ending up in a collector's garage, rather than in the hands of an unexperienced driver who wants to recreate the car stunts from the TV series.

Everyone's favourite Pontiac Trans Am is nowadays valued at $149,995, and is worth every cent, considering that it is one of the only four T-Top cars surviving the TV series.
